Jessica & Cody Kirkham unholster their shooting skills

Old West action shooting can be a disturbingly addicting hobby, one which draws in all sorts of folks who take a step through time to get a small taste of what it was like in the 19th century.

Men and women alike walked around in leather and wool, wearing cowboy hats with six-shooters tied to their hip.

The Wild West in those days was filled with unruly citizens, barkeeps, range-riders, odd sticks, four-flushers and others on the shoot but these days, people just like to pretend.

Jessica Kirkham, a 14-year-old eighth-grader at Big Park Community School, and her younger brother, 11-year-old Cody Kirkham, have found something to do together other than chasing each other around the house wielding household knick-knacks.
